Spring car boot sale on April 19, 2026 in Rugles, a village in the Pays d'Ouche in Eure
Every spring, Rugles organizes its big annual car boot sale, one of the highlights of the flea market calendar in the Pays d'Ouche. This popular event in Eure brings together exhibitors from Rugles and neighboring towns to offer a wide variety of second-hand items in the streets and squares of the village.
The April car boot sale is traditionally an opportunity for residents to do their spring cleaning. Overflowing attics, cluttered cellars, and overfull garages are emptied under the pressure of the big sale. You can find everything: Norman furniture (sideboards, chests of drawers, farm tables), crockery and tableware, clothes for the whole family, toys and games, books, records, tools and gardening equipment, interior decoration, and various curiosities. The earliest bargain hunters often find the best treasures.
The Pays d'Ouche in April is at its bucolic peak. The meadows turn green, the oak forests bud, the Charentonne river flows full after the winter rains. It is in this exceptional natural setting that the Rugles car boot sale displays its stalls. Visitors often combine a bargain hunting session with a walk in the surroundings of the village, enjoying the charms of the inland Eure as winter ends.
Rugles maintains an active network of associations, of which the spring car boot sale is one of the jewels. Organized by local volunteers, it helps to liven up the village, generate traffic in the shops, and maintain strong social ties between the inhabitants of the rural communities of the Pays d'Ouche. The April car boot sale is also a time for neighbors to meet, chat, help each other, and prepare for the arrival of warmer days together.
