Grand flea market, arts and crafts, and car boot sale on Place Joseph Faure in Argentat-sur-Dordogne
Each end of July, Place Joseph Faure in Argentat-sur-Dordogne transforms into a vast market of antiques, arts and crafts, and car boot sales. More than 150 exhibitors, both professionals and individuals, take over the site for a day of treasure hunting on the banks of the Dordogne. Stalls stretch along the aisles, offering antique furniture, tableware, trinkets, decorative objects, artisanal creations, clothing, and a thousand curiosities.
Argentat-sur-Dordogne is one of the most beautiful towns in southern Corrèze, famous for its bargemen houses with half-timbered facades and picturesque turrets lining the Quai Lestourgie. The town preserves the memory of the bargemen's epic journey, those boatmen who navigated the Dordogne on their vessels loaded with wood and goods down to Bordeaux. The restored quays, the old bridge, and the narrow streets of the historic center form a remarkable setting that adds to the charm of the flea market.
The originality of the Argentat event lies in the coexistence of three complementary worlds: professional flea market, arts and crafts, and private car boot sales. Antique dealers offer old furniture, collectible tableware, lighting, and decorative objects. Artisans present their original creations in wood, ceramics, textiles, or metal. Individuals complete the offer with traditional car boot sale items. This diversity attracts a varied audience and guarantees discoveries for all budgets.
The flea market takes place all day on Place Joseph Faure and the surrounding streets. Refreshments and light catering are available on site. Admission is free for visitors.
