Foire à la Brocante des Gueux de Coupiac

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, the village of Coupiac hosted the 37th Foire à la Brocante des Gueux, an emblematic event of the summer in southern Aveyron. True to its tradition of the first Sunday in August, this large flea market once again took over all the streets and squares of the village center, at the foot of the majestic medieval castle with its ribbed vaults and mullioned windows.

From 7 am to 7 pm, exhibitors—both private and professional—displayed their stalls in the cobbled alleys of this charming village nestled in the Mousse valley. Early morning treasure hunters could spot the best pieces right from the opening: country furniture, antique tableware, ceramics, old books and magazines, vintage clothing, toys, antique tools, and bric-a-brac of all kinds. The regional product stands offered a gourmet complement to this treasure hunting day, with the flavors of the Aveyron terroir.

The highlight of the day remained the medieval parade, organized at 11 am through the village alleys. This costumed procession, which has become a tradition of the Brocante des Gueux, pays homage to the history of Coupiac, whose castrum is mentioned as early as the 9th century. Spectators gathered along the route admired the period costumes parading under the walls of the castle rebuilt in the 15th century by Louis de Panat. The 37th edition confirmed the popular standing of this flea market in the festive landscape of southern Aveyron.
