On Sunday, August 4, 2024, the 36th Foire à la Brocante des Gueux took over all the streets and squares of the village center of Coupiac. Organized by the Union des Commerçants et Artisans de Coupiac, this large summer flea market transformed the medieval village into a vast open-air treasure market, from 7 am to 7 pm.
The stands of private and professional exhibitors offered treasure hunters the characteristic diversity of this renowned flea market: antique furniture, tableware and ceramics, books and magazines, vintage clothing, toys, antique tools, bric-a-brac, and curiosities from all eras. Lovers of local products could discover regional specialties offered by local producers present at the market.
At 11 am, the traditional medieval parade crossed the village streets, recalling the thousand-year history of Coupiac and its flamboyant 15th-century Gothic castle. The period costumes and the procession offered a spectacle appreciated by regulars and visitors alike, in an exceptional heritage setting dominated by the castle's two round towers. The 36th edition confirmed the status of the Brocante des Gueux as one of the major summer events in southern Aveyron.
