Montech Floralies and Flea Market

A Montech spring institution

In Montech, May 1st is not a public holiday like any other. For many years, the Comité des Célébrations has organised the Floralies, a large plant and flower fair on Boulevard Pasteur, paired with a flea market on the Esplanade de la Visitation. This tradition gathers thousands of visitors from across Tarn-et-Garonne.

Floralies: a plant lover's paradise

Boulevard Pasteur turns into a temporary garden where growers, nurseries and horticulturists offer perennials, shrubs, aromatic plants, vegetable seedlings, Mediterranean plants, seasonal flowers, roses and rare plants. Gardeners come to renew their garden or balcony, advised by professionals.

The flea market: bargain hunting alongside

In parallel, a large flea market takes over the Esplanade de la Visitation. Private sellers and exhibitors offer clothing, toys, books, dishes, brocante, vintage items, old furniture and decoration.

A popular celebration

The whole town gets involved. The Comité des Célébrations runs a refreshment bar and food service. Visitors often extend their day to discover Montech's heritage, notably the famous water slope on the Canal de Garonne.
