Large summer flea market organized by Plouarzel Animation, place de la mairie
Plouarzel (29810) is a town in the Pays d'Iroise in northern Finistère, a few kilometers from the Atlantic coast. Every summer, the association Plouarzel Animation mobilizes volunteers and exhibitors to organize its large flea market in the heart of the town, an event that has become a must in the summer calendar of this area of Finistère.
The unique feature of Plouarzel is that it offers two flea market editions during the summer season: one in July, the other in August. These two distinct events allow twice as many exhibitors and visitors to enjoy this popular event during the same season.
The place de la mairie and the garden of the Forge, in the very heart of Plouarzel town, host about a hundred exhibitors at each edition. They display their books, toys, small furniture, trinkets, clothes, and everyday objects on tables and stalls set up in this central area. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed, and typically summery.
Exhibitors are welcomed from 7 am for setup. No prior reservation is necessary — just arrive early to choose your spot. Participants must bring their own tables and chairs if needed.
Please note: in case of bad weather, the market may be canceled. It is recommended to check with Plouarzel Animation for weather conditions the day before the event. Entry is completely free for visitors.
Plouarzel stretches along the coast of the Pays d'Iroise, between Lampaul-Plouarzel to the south and Le Conquet to the southwest. The municipal territory includes several coastal hamlets such as Porspoder, Argenton, and Trémazan, with its ruined medieval castle overlooking the Aber Ildut. The beaches, the GR34 coastal paths, and the proximity to Pointe de Corsen — the westernmost point of mainland France — make it a popular town for hikers and lovers of wild nature.
The Plouarzel Animation flea market is part of this summer dynamic that enlivens the Pays d'Iroise from June to September, when residents and tourists gather to enjoy the many local events.
