A Junior Association at the helm

On Sunday 5 April 2026, the Junior Association Black & White of Vaison-la-Romaine led a lively bargain-hunting morning on Place Burrus. From 6 am to 6 pm, the teenagers of the association organised, set up and animated their annual flea market in the vast modern esplanade, steps away from the Roman remains.

The Junior Association model

Junior Associations are a national scheme enabling young people aged 11-18 to collectively manage their projects in a simplified associative form. JA Black & White designed this flea market as self-funding: the 8-euro stand fee is fully reinvested in the activities, trips and charitable projects led by young members year-round.

A transformed Place Burrus

From 6 am, dawn saw the first vehicles and tarps spread out. Clothing, toys, video games, books, CDs and DVDs, tableware, trinkets, small furniture, school supplies and decor: the flea market offered the diversity typical of Provençal urban events.
