Large flea market and car boot sale during the Pâté Lorrain Festival, place Ligier Richier in Saint-Mihiel
Every first Sunday of June, the town of Saint-Mihiel celebrates its emblematic gastronomic specialty with the Fête du Pâté Lorrain. For this occasion, a large flea market and car boot sale takes place on Place Ligier Richier, in the heart of this sub-prefecture of the Meuse, rich in exceptional Renaissance heritage.
Saint-Mihiel is a town of character known for its sculptor Ligier Richier, whose major works are preserved in the town's churches, notably the famous Sépulcre in the church of Saint-Étienne. The square that bears his name is the historical heart of the city and offers a remarkable architectural setting for this event combining heritage, gastronomy, and treasure hunting.
The flea market of the Fête du Pâté Lorrain attracts many exhibitors and visitors. Pitches are offered at 2 euros per meter, outdoors only, with arrival possible from 6 am. Individuals and professionals mingle in a festive atmosphere, offering flea market items, antiques, car boot sale items, and various curiosities.
Beyond the flea market, the Fête du Pâté Lorrain offers a program of various entertainment: music, entertainment for children and adults, tasting stands of the famous Pâté Lorrain. Catering and refreshments are available on site. The UCIA (Union Commerciale, Industrielle et Artisanale) coordinates this entire day which celebrates the Lorraine art of living.
