Every third Sunday of June, Le Pertuis, a commune in Haute-Loire, is the scene of one of the most important flea markets in the department. The Truck Parking of Le Bourg hosts nearly 250 exhibitors from 5 am, who set up to offer their treasures until 5 pm. Organized by APE Le Pertuis, this emblematic event is in its 31st edition, a testament to its remarkable longevity and the deep attachment of the local community to this annual gathering.

The opening at 5 am is one of the most striking features of this flea market. The earliest bargain hunters know that this is when the best deals are to be found, before the daylight allows everyone to clearly distinguish the items. With 250 exhibitors spread across the vast truck parking lot, the offering is considerable: furniture, tableware and porcelain, books and prints, clothing and fabrics, tools and equipment, toys and vintage items, paintings and art objects. Diversity is present to satisfy all tastes.

Differentiated rates for individuals and professionals

APE Le Pertuis has implemented a pricing system that clearly distinguishes individual exhibitors from professionals. Individuals benefit from a rate of €5 for 5 linear meters, which is very accessible and encouraging for local residents who wish to clear out their attics. Professionals, who generally occupy more space and offer a larger quantity of goods, pay €15 for 10 meters. This distinction allows both types of exhibitors to be accommodated under fair conditions.

APE Le Pertuis, long-time organizer

The Association des Parents d'Élèves du Pertuis (Parents' Association of Le Pertuis) has been the driving force behind this event since its inception. The funds raised are used to finance educational projects for the school and to enrich the school life of the children in the commune. By participating in the Pertuis flea market, exhibitors and visitors directly contribute to the well-being of the students in the local school.
