Village festival with garage sale, ball, parade and entertainment in the Bruche Valley
The Barembach Village Festival is one of the great springtime events in the Bruche Valley, at the heart of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park. Over two days, on May 2 and 3, 2026, the commune comes alive with its traditional garage sale, funfair, country ball, food stalls and grand parade. The 2026 theme is 'Barembach Liberated in Celebration', in memory of the village's liberation. On the program: street parades, musical entertainment, photo exhibition on the liberation, children's face painting, zumba demonstration and torchlight procession. An authentic village celebration that brings together the whole valley around preserved Alsatian traditions.
The Barembach Village Festival is a highly anticipated event that gathers inhabitants of the commune and neighboring villages in the Bruche Valley every year. Organized on the first weekend of May, it starts on Saturday, May 2 at 3pm with the opening of the funfair and continues in the evening with a country ball at 8pm. On Sunday, May 3, the festival is in full swing from 8am to midnight with the garage sale that spreads through the village streets, rides, Alsatian food stalls and varied entertainment for all generations.
The 2026 edition pays tribute to the liberation of Barembach with a program rich in commemorative events. A photo exhibition on the liberation is presented throughout Sunday from 10am to 5pm. The highlight of the day is the grand parade at 3:30pm, which marches through the village streets on the historic theme. At 1pm, children enjoy face painting, while at 4:30pm a zumba demonstration sets the rhythm, followed at 5pm by musical entertainment. The garage sale, open from dawn, allows bargain hunters to enjoy hundreds of private exhibitors scattered throughout the village lanes. Alsatian catering (tartes flambées, knacks, pastries), refreshments and regional treats delight food lovers throughout the day.
Barembach, a small village of about 850 inhabitants, is nestled in the upper Bruche Valley in Bas-Rhin, near Schirmeck and the Alsace-Moselle Memorial. Surrounded by Vosges forests and part of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park, the commune offers an exceptional natural setting conducive to hiking and heritage discovery. The Bruche Valley played a major role in Alsace's history, particularly during World War II, which makes the liberation theme particularly meaningful for this 2026 edition. The Village Festival is an opportunity to celebrate the identity and history of this valley while sharing friendly moments.
