Producers' market, blueberry festival and car boot sale at the tourist train station of Abreschviller
Abreschviller, a forest village in the Moselle Vosges, celebrates the blueberry every summer, a wild fruit from the Vosges undergrowth. On this occasion, a local producers' market and a car boot sale are set up at the departure station of the tourist train, in an exceptional setting in the heart of the forest.
The Abreschviller tourist train is one of the major attractions of the Moselle Vosges. This small steam train, heir to the forest trains that transported wood in the 19th century, winds for 6 kilometers through the Sarre Rouge valley, between fir forests and crystal-clear streams. The departure station, where the car boot sale is held, is a place steeped in railway and forest history.
Abreschviller is historically linked to the forestry of the Vosges. The fir and beech forests surrounding the village supplied timber for construction and heating for the entire region. Today, the village focuses on green tourism and the valorization of its natural and railway heritage.
