Car boot sale organized by the Val d'Adour Football Club on Place de la Libération in Maubourguet
Each spring, the Val d'Adour Football Club (FCVA) organizes its annual car boot sale on Place de la Libération in Maubourguet, in the heart of the Val d'Adour. This friendly day brings together private sellers and bargain hunters under the market hall and outdoors for a morning of authentic treasure hunting. Refreshments and food are available on site, with proceeds going to the local football club.
Each spring, the Val d'Adour Football Club (FCVA) takes over Place de la Libération in Maubourguet to host its annual car boot sale. Set up under the beautiful metal market hall or outdoors on the square, exhibitors display clothing, toys, crockery, ornaments, books, vinyl records, small furniture and everyday items. The atmosphere is warm and family-friendly, typical of the village gatherings that bring the Val d'Adour to life.
Organized to benefit the local football club, this event is an important source of income for the young footballers of the FCVA, an emblematic club of Maubourguet and the surrounding communes. Club volunteers welcome exhibitors at dawn and ensure the day runs smoothly. Refreshments and catering are available on site, allowing bargain hunters to refuel between finds.
Maubourguet is a former bastide town of around 2,400 inhabitants located at the confluence of the Adour and Échez rivers, in the north of the Hautes-Pyrénées department. Founded in the 13th century, the town preserves a remarkable heritage: its Romanesque-style Saint-Jacques Church classified as a historic monument, its 19th-century metal market hall, its arcaded streets and its central square which hosts one of the finest markets in the Val d'Adour every Tuesday.
Located on the route of the famous Madiran vineyard, known for its full-bodied red wines and Pacherenc, Maubourguet is an essential gourmet and cultural stop between Tarbes and Pau. The Val d'Adour, a land of rugby and football, lives to the rhythm of its sports clubs and associations that keep the villages alive. The FCVA car boot sale is fully part of this tradition of village conviviality and solidarity.
Bargain hunters come from all over the north of the Hautes-Pyrénées, from neighboring Gers and the Pyrénées-Atlantiques to enjoy this big open-air sale. The attractive rates (3 euros per meter under the hall, 2.50 euros outdoors) attract many private exhibitors. Buying here also means supporting an amateur club that trains young people in the Val d'Adour in football, in the pure tradition of village football.
