Charitable indoor car boot sale at L'Allégro de Miribel
The annual Farfouille organized by the association Cap Handicap is held every February at L'Allégro, an emblematic hall in Miribel. This friendly event brings together about thirty exhibitors in a covered and accessible setting, offering clothes, toys, trinkets, and everyday objects at affordable prices. All profits are donated to the association for people with disabilities.
Every winter, the association Cap Handicap invites residents of Miribel and surrounding towns to its big annual Farfouille, an indoor car boot sale that has become an essential solidarity event over the years. The event takes place at L'Allégro, a function room located on Place de la République, in the heart of the town.
The peculiarity of this farfouille lies in its charitable purpose. The revenue generated from the rental of pitches is entirely donated to the association Cap Handicap, which works daily to improve the lives of people with disabilities in the Côtière de l'Ain region. Visitors will find a wide range of second-hand items: clothes, books, toys, crockery, small furniture, and various trinkets.
L'Allégro offers a covered and heated space, ideal for browsing away from the February chill. The thirty or so stands are organized in the main hall, allowing for easy movement between the stalls. Each exhibitor has a 3.60-meter pitch with a table provided, for a fee of 16 euros. Visitor entry is a symbolic 1 euro, donated to the association.
Miribel, a dynamic town in the Côtière de l'Ain region near Lyon, offers a pleasant living environment between the Miribel canal and the Grand Parc natural park. L'Allégro, a multi-purpose hall located on Place de la République, is easily accessible by car or public transport. Free parking is available nearby, and the shops in the town center allow for an extended visit after the farfouille.
Stand reservations can be made by phone at 06 16 12 92 23 or 06 16 74 11 39. It is advisable to book early as the number of places is limited to about thirty pitches. Exhibitors can set up on the morning of the event, and the farfouille is open to the public from 8 am to 6 pm in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Cap Handicap volunteers ensure the welcome and oversee the smooth running of the day.
