Artistic flea market at the heart of the circus and street theatre festival
Founded in 1986 in the Templar Commandery of Vaour (81140), a small village perched on a causse in northwestern Tarn, the L'Été de Vaour Festival has become one of the most important multidisciplinary events in southwest France. Programming street theatre, circus, clowning, mime, music and dance in a warm rural setting. In 2026, the festival celebrates its 40th anniversary from 4 to 9 August 2026.
The festival traditionally hosts a Saturday morning flea market (8am-2pm) in the village centre. While shows animate the squares and Commandery, stalls set up in the village lanes for a friendly interlude.
You meet local hunters, holidaymakers, festival-goers from across France, and touring artists. Conversations mix show anecdotes, hiking recommendations and good-natured bargaining.
Discover the listed Templar Commandery, the Causse de Cordes landscapes, nearby Cordes-sur-Ciel, Bruniquel and its prehistoric caves, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, the Aveyron gorges.
