Bargain hunting at the foot of Quercy-Rouergue hills
Nestled in the Seye valley, halfway between Quercy bastides and Rouergue landscapes, the village of Verfeil-sur-Seye hosts in spring its annual flea market organised by the festive committee. Far from large regional gatherings, this event preserves the spirit of a rural village where everyone knows each other and bargain hunting is above all a moment of reunion.
Exhibitors — mostly residents of Verfeil-sur-Seye and neighbouring villages (Varen, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, Caylus, Parisot) — offer a typical village range: clothes, toys, vintage china, books, vinyl, family bric-a-brac, tools, small furniture, garden furniture, appliances, decoration. Prices are modest.
Verfeil-sur-Seye stands out for its location in a green valley at the foot of wooded hills. The village preserves authentic Quercy rural architecture with light-stone houses and quiet lanes.
The event keeps the friendliness of a village fete. The bar run by volunteers offers coffee, pastries, sandwiches, chips and cold drinks. A chance to meet residents and share a warm moment.
Take advantage of your visit to explore this little-known but stunning region: Varen with its fortified Romanesque church, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, the Aveyron gorges, Najac with its perched castle.
