The great spring flea market under the plane trees of the cours
The Cours de la République, a long avenue shaded by majestic plane trees, is Pertuis' central artery. Renamed for a day as an alley of brocante, it hosts each spring the major flea market organised by the Pertuis Cycling Association. Private exhibitors lined up over several hundred metres unpack their treasures under the benevolent shade of the trees, in a relaxed and convivial Provençal atmosphere.
The Pertuis Cycling Association is one of the city's oldest associations. Its annual flea market on the Cours de la République has become a highlight of the local calendar, with proceeds funding the club's activities, races and association life.
Wide-ranging private-sellers' brocante: household bric-a-brac, children's and adult clothing, toys, books, comics, vinyl records, tableware, linen, small furniture, decorative items, tools, sports gear. Savvy hunters arrive at dawn, from 7.30am, for the best choice before the crowds.
