The annual gathering for collectors and retro toy enthusiasts in southern Yvelines
The Collectibles and Retro Toys Fair of Ablis is a must-attend event for collectors, nostalgia lovers and vintage toy enthusiasts in the southern Yvelines. Held every winter by the CAR association and Retro Brothers, this fair brings together exhibitors and bargain hunters around stamps, coins, old postcards, vintage toys from the 70s to the 90s and retro gaming.
Every winter, the small town of Ablis in the southern Yvelines hosts an original event combining two complementary worlds: traditional collectibles and retro toys. The Collectibles and Retro Toys Fair has become a fixture in the calendar of French collectors, drawing regulars and newcomers alike to a friendly and specialised gathering.
The fair owes its uniqueness to the partnership between two passionate associations: the CAR, which brings together philately, numismatics and old paper enthusiasts, and Retro Brothers, a group dedicated to vintage toys and games. This collaboration gives the fair a distinctive atmosphere, halfway between a classic multi-collectors fair and a pop culture festival.
The aisles of the Ablis gymnasium are filled with treasures for every budget and interest: rare stamps, old coins and banknotes, medals, postcards, tin toys, Dinky Toys and Majorette cars, 1980s action figures, vintage Barbie dolls, old board games, NES, Master System, Mega Drive and Game Boy consoles, cartridges and vintage magazines.
Admission is free, conversations flow between enthusiasts, and the atmosphere remains resolutely family-friendly. Younger visitors discover with wonder objects that shaped their parents' childhoods, while seasoned collectors exchange tips and anecdotes.
Hosting such a fair is a major asset for this small Yvelines town, located on the edge of the Beauce and close to the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse regional park. Easily accessible from Paris via the A10 motorway, Ablis offers visitors an authentic setting and the warm welcome typical of rural communes in the Île-de-France region.
