Specialist cinema brocante as part of the Festival Lumière, 9th edition – Lyon 8th (Monplaisir)
The Ciné Brocante of the Festival Lumière (9th edition) is a unique event combining a passion for cinema with the pleasure of browsing. Held in the Monplaisir neighbourhood of Lyon 8th, close to the Institut Lumière, it brings together the finest specialist collectors and dealers in cinematographic objects from across France and Europe. Enthusiasts can hunt down treasures: film posters (originals, reprints, various formats), on-set and press photographs, books and monographs on directors and actors, original scripts, vintage cinema magazines (Cahiers du Cinéma, Positif), rare DVDs and Blu-rays, cinema objects (clapper boards, reels, projection equipment) and much more.
The Festival Lumière is one of the world's most important cinema festivals, held each October in Lyon by the Institut Lumière. It takes its name from the brothers Auguste and Louis Lumière, inventors of the cinematograph in 1895, who were born in Lyon and had their photographic factories in the Monplaisir neighbourhood. The Institut Lumière, housed in the Villa Lumière, perpetuates their memory and legacy.
Metro line D (Monplaisir – Lumière station). Bus 38, 65. The brocante takes place in the streets of the Monplaisir neighbourhood, around the Institut Lumière (25 rue du Premier Film). Parking in the neighbourhood.
