34 editions of treasure hunting by the Vilaine

For over three decades, the Châteaubourg car boot sale (35220) has been held every summer in Broons-sur-Vilaine, a delegated commune of the new commune of Châteaubourg. For its 34th edition, the event offers 250 pitches where individuals and bargain hunters meet to exchange clothes, toys, books, crockery, tools, trinkets, vinyl records, and objects of all kinds. The rural setting, along the Vilaine river, adds a bucolic charm to this flea market day.

Châteaubourg, a crossroads between Rennes and Vitré

Châteaubourg, a dynamic town of 8,000 inhabitants located on the Rennes-Vitré axis (N157), is ideally placed to attract bargain hunters from both population centers. The Broons-sur-Vilaine area, more rural, offers the necessary space to accommodate the 250 outdoor pitches. The longevity of this car boot sale — 34 years — testifies to the attachment of the inhabitants and the know-how of the volunteer organizers.

Family and rural atmosphere

Admission is free. A refreshment stand and food stalls (crêpes, grilled food) are available on site. Parking is arranged in the immediate vicinity of the site. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, ideal for a summer Sunday outing.
