The major mineralogical rendezvous of the Tarn
Every February, the Castres Exhibition Centre hosts the Minerals, Fossils and Designer Jewellery Fair. Twenty-five exhibitors from France and abroad present crystals, semi-precious stones, rare fossils and artisan jewellery, with free expert appraisals and microscope demonstrations.
Held at the Castres Exhibition Centre, 60 avenue du Sidobre, the Minerals, Fossils and Designer Jewellery Fair has become in just a few editions a major gathering for earth-science enthusiasts and lithotherapy lovers in the Tarn. The event draws on the region's rich mineralogical heritage, with the Sidobre and Montagne Noire nearby.
Over two days, around twenty-five specialist exhibitors present collections from around the world: rock crystals, amethysts, quartz, pyrites, tourmalines, semi-precious stones, ammonite and trilobite fossils, shark teeth, amber, meteorites and many other geological wonders. Alongside, artisan jewellers offer unique pieces set with fine and precious stones for all budgets.
The Albigensian Mineralogical Club is present all weekend to introduce the public, especially children, to the world of micro-crystallisations seen through binocular magnifiers. A free expert appraisal service allows visitors to bring their own finds for identification by specialists.
The fair appeals both to seasoned collectors and to families discovering the fascinating world of minerals and fossils. Visitors come to complete a collection, buy an original piece of jewellery, learn about lithotherapy, or simply marvel at nature's creations.
The Castres Exhibition Centre offers free parking and a refreshment area. Entry is affordable; under-12s enter free.
The 3rd edition of the Castres Minerals, Fossils and Designer Jewellery Fair was held on 14-15 February 2026 at the Exhibition Centre, 60 avenue du Sidobre. 25 exhibitors, free appraisals and microscope demonstrations attracted many visitors.
The third edition confirmed the fair's place among the major mineralogical events of Occitanie. On 14-15 February 2026, 25 exhibitors filled the Castres Exhibition Centre with a refined selection of crystals, fossils and artisan jewellery. The Albigensian Mineralogical Club once again hosted popular microscope demonstrations, and free appraisals drew a steady queue of visitors. See you in February 2027 for the fourth edition.
