Carpentras Flower Fair

A spring tradition of the Comtat Venaissin

The Carpentras Flower Fair is one of the major spring events organised by the Town. Each year in late April, the vast Jean-Jaurès avenue car park turns into an immense open-air nursery. Horticulturists, nurserymen and local producers set out their plant stalls, in one of the finest urban settings in the Vaucluse, steps from Saint-Siffrein cathedral.

A symbolic market setting

The Jean-Jaurès avenues are historically the commercial heart of Carpentras. They host the great Sunday Plane Trees brocante, the legendary weekly market on Fridays, and thematic events such as this Flower Fair.

What to find

Mainly regional producers: Vaucluse nurserymen, horticulturists, organic growers, aromatic producers. Ornamental plants (roses, perennials, annuals), Mediterranean plants (lavender, olive trees, citrus, Provençal cypress), fruit trees, aromatic herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage, basil), vegetable plants, climbing plants and orchids. Some stalls also offer pottery, Provençal terracotta containers, gardening tools, compost.

An authentic spring atmosphere

The Provençal April light lights up the colours of the plants, the scents of the aromatics perfume the alleys, and the advice of passionate producers delights amateur gardeners.
