Annual car boot sale in the village of Villerest on the banks of the Loire
Villerest, a commune located upstream from Roanne on the banks of the Loire, is mainly known for its imposing dam and the reservoir lake that bears its name. The village retains interesting medieval heritage with its Museum of Time and Fire and its old streets. The annual car boot sale takes advantage of this setting to offer a pleasant day of bargain hunting.
Exhibitors set up in the streets of Villerest village, offering visitors a route between old houses and panoramas of the Loire valley. Individuals offer the traditional car boot sale jumble: crockery, toys, clothes, books, tools, and trinkets. The proximity of the lake and hiking trails allows for an extended day of walking. Entry is free and the rural atmosphere appeals to bargain hunters from the Roannais region.
