Village festival with car boot sale, crafts and hiking in Villespassans, in the heart of the Saint-Chinianais.
Organized by the Foyer Rural and the town hall of Villespassans, the Fête des Mille et Une Pierres celebrates the remarkable dry stone heritage that characterizes this village in the Saint-Chinianais. A car boot sale and a craft market liven up the village center, while a hike on the 1001 stones path starts at 9 am to discover the capitelles, dry stone walls and terraces of the surrounding garrigue.
Located north of Béziers, in the hills of the Saint-Chinianais, Villespassans (34360) is a small village of character surrounded by Saint-Chinian appellation vineyards and garrigue. The dry stone heritage — capitelles, dry stone walls, shepherd's huts — bears witness to centuries of rural work. The chemin des 1001 pierres, a marked hiking trail, allows you to discover these traditional constructions in a preserved Mediterranean landscape.
The Fête des 1001 Pierres offers a rich program: a small recreated military camp, a guided tour of the village, a dry stone construction demonstration, an exhibition from the Cruzy museum, entertainment for children, a vintage car exhibition with driving experiences, and dog agility demonstrations. In the late afternoon, the choir Les Cigalous and tropical dance shows liven up the event, punctuated by food trucks and local wine tastings.
