Treffendel is a commune of about 1,500 inhabitants located 30 km southwest of Rennes, in the community of communes of Montfort Communauté. The village is a true gateway to the Paimpont forest, better known as the Brocéliande forest, a major site of Arthurian legend. The paths starting from the village lead to the Barenton fountain, the Val sans Retour, and the tomb of Merlin. The commune retains an endearing rural heritage: a purple slate church, traditional farms, hedgerows, and the Aff stream that winds through the meadows.
The Treffendel car boot sale offers a unique opportunity to combine bargain hunting and discovering Brocéliande. After visiting the stalls, visitors can set off on the paths of the legendary forest. The refreshment stand offers galettes-saucisses (sausage crepes) and artisanal cider. Admission is free.
The Treffendel car boot sale returns on June 14, 2026.
