Every March, the village of Tencin hosts its Spring Festival, a major event combining a car boot sale, local crafts, and a flower fair. With 250 exhibitors spread around Tencin Castle, it is one of the largest gatherings of its kind in the Grésivaudan valley.
Tencin Castle, an emblematic monument of the commune, offers a magnificent setting for this spring festival. Stalls are set up along the Route du Moulin and in the areas adjacent to the castle, creating a pleasant treasure-hunting route in a historically rich environment. Tencin, a small commune of about 1,800 inhabitants, is located 3 km from Pontcharra, in the Grésivaudan valley, between Grenoble and Chambéry.
Beyond the classic car boot sale, the Tencin Spring Festival stands out with the presence of local artisans and creators exhibiting their products. The flower fair complements the offerings with plants, flowers, shrubs, and seeds for gardeners. This combination makes the day a true celebration of spring, attracting visitors for both bargain hunting and admiring artisanal creations while preparing their gardens.
The Tencin Spring Festival is a long-standing event that draws a large crowd. Its central geographical location, 20 km from Chambéry and 40 km from Grenoble, Albertville, and Aix-les-Bains, makes it an accessible destination for a wide population base. The clearly marked and signposted parking facilitates access for visitors from all over the region.
The Tencin Spring Festival returns on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Tencin Castle. 250 exhibitors, crafts, creations, and flower fair.
