Every year in June, the Sou des Écoles des Bastions organizes its annual car boot sale in La Mure, the capital of Matheysine. La Mure is a small town of 5,000 inhabitants located on a plateau at an altitude of 880 meters, south of Grenoble. A former mining town, La Mure is famous for its tourist train – the Chemin de fer de la Mure – which follows a spectacular route along the cliffs of the Drac. The town is the commercial and administrative center of Matheysine, a mid-mountain region between the Drac and Beaumont.
