About Car boot sale Puycasquier

The car boot sale of the Friends of the Heritage of Puycasquier (32120) is organized under the 16th-century hall of this perched medieval bastide, 25 km northeast of Auch. The association Les Amis du Patrimoine offers this event in a remarkable architectural setting — oak-framed hall, 16th-century houses, panorama over the Auroue valley and the Pyrenees — combining treasure hunting, flower market, and crafts.

The Car Boot Sale of the Friends of the Heritage in Puycasquier

The association Les Amis du Patrimoine de Puycasquier organizes an annual car boot sale in the exceptional setting of this 13th-century bastide. The event takes place under and around the medieval hall of the village, a 16th-century brick building with a magnificent oak frame with sculpted corbels, which is one of the architectural jewels of the commune.

An Exceptional Heritage Setting

Puycasquier is a bastide founded in the 13th century, perched on one of the highest points in the Gers department, 25 kilometers northeast of Auch. The village holds remarkable heritage treasures: the 16th-century hall and its ornate frame, a 13th-century tower bell (former watchtower), a church porch and 12th-century baptismal fonts. The old houses in the Embans district, dating from the 16th century, complete this rich built heritage.

Treasure Hunting with a View of the Pyrenees

One of the unique attractions of this car boot sale is the exceptional panorama offered by the village. A walk on the "English breach", which overlooks the ramparts, rewards visitors with a breathtaking view of the Auroue valley and, on a clear day, the Pyrenees mountain range. Treasure hunting in Puycasquier means combining the pleasure of a good deal with the contemplation of a magnificent Gascon landscape.

The Friends of the Heritage, Guardians of the Village

The association Les Amis du Patrimoine de Puycasquier works for the preservation, restoration, and enhancement of the architectural and historical heritage of the village. The car boot sale, which may be accompanied by a market for flowers, plants, and crafts, is one of the events that help to introduce the bastide to a wide audience while collecting funds for restoration projects.

A Living Bastide in the Heart of Gascony

Despite its small size, Puycasquier is a living village where heritage is not frozen in a museum but inhabited and animated by its residents. The European Heritage Days, guided tours, and events like the car boot sale contribute to making this bastide a place of discovery accessible to all. The village is part of the Grand Auch Cœur de Gascogne agglomeration community.
