The "Vide-grenier les Roselières" Car Boot Sale in Saint-Lyphard

Every May 1st, the Amicale Laïque de Saint-Lyphard organizes its "Vide-grenier les Roselières" (Car Boot Sale) at the Vinière sports complex, located at 6 passage des Brières du Bourg. This spring event brings together about a hundred private exhibitors and visitors from all over the Brièron marshland for a day of treasure hunting and conviviality.

In the heart of the Brière Regional Natural Park

Saint-Lyphard is one of the most picturesque villages in the Brière Regional Natural Park, a vast area of marshland and hedgerows north of the Guérande peninsula. The village, perched on one of the few elevated points in the marsh, offers a breathtaking view of the reed beds and canals. The very name of the car boot sale – "les Roselières" (the Reed Beds) – pays homage to this unique, classified, and protected natural landscape.

A festive and supportive day

The Amicale Laïque de Saint-Lyphard is a very active educational and cultural association in the commune. It works throughout the year to support the activities of children in secular schools and to fund educational projects. The annual car boot sale is one of its main fundraising events. The emphasis is on conviviality: a coffee is offered to each exhibitor upon arrival, creating a warm atmosphere from the start.

Information for exhibitors

The Vinière sports complex site hosts around 120 exhibitors for this annual event. Pitches measure 4 meters by 5 meters and are offered at a price of 13 euros. Only individuals are allowed to exhibit; professionals are not accepted. Visitors enter freely and for free. The presence of a large number of exhibitors guarantees a wide variety of items: clothing, furniture, tableware, toys, books, vinyl records, tools, and various curiosities.

A privileged tourist area

Holding the car boot sale on May 1st, a public holiday, encourages a large turnout. Saint-Lyphard welcomes many tourists each year who visit the Brière and enjoy the numerous water activities offered on the marsh. The "Vide-grenier les Roselières" is part of this tourist dynamic and contributes to the commune's attractiveness at the beginning of the summer season.
