On the banks of Marcenac lake, 6 kilometers from Lalbenque in the direction of Limogne-en-Quercy, the Marcenac Fishing Club organizes its annual car boot sale. This friendly event brings together about forty exhibitors under the weeping willows that line the lake's shores, in an exceptional natural setting.

An event in the heart of Quercy's nature

Marcenac lake is one of the most popular bodies of water in Quercy Blanc. Nestled in a limestone basin characteristic of the causse, its calm waters reflect the weeping willows and poplars that surround it. It is in this bucolic setting that the fishing club, chaired by Patrick Bellon, sets up its car boot sale, offering exhibitors and visitors a unique environment for a day of outdoor bargain hunting.

Various items for all bargain hunters

While the Fishing Club is the initiator of the event, the car boot sale is not exclusively dedicated to fishing. You can find all sorts of second-hand items: trinkets and decorative objects, clothes, books, toys, leisure equipment, and of course, second-hand fishing gear offered by some exhibitors. The diversity of offerings attracts bargain hunters from all over Quercy and the neighboring Ségala region.

The Marcenac Fishing Club

A dynamic association in the Lalbenque area, the Marcenac Fishing Club manages fishing rights on the lake and regularly organizes fishing-related activities for young people and adults. The annual car boot sale is one of its main public events, helping to finance the club's activities and raise awareness about the preservation of aquatic environments.

Practical organization

Exhibitor setup begins early in the morning. Registration is mandatory and can be done by phone with Patrick Bellon at 06 87 74 15 58. The price is 3 euros per linear meter, with a minimum of 4 meters. The club's refreshment stand provides drinks and food throughout the day. Access to Marcenac lake is via the Chemin de Marcenac from Lalbenque, just before the village of Vaylats.
