Car boot sale of the traditional Hake Festival in Marigny-Marmande, in the Richelais region
The car boot sale of the Hake Festival is an original event that combines flea market and culinary tradition in Marigny-Marmande. About sixty exhibitors — individuals and antique dealers — set up their stalls in the village center and offer a varied selection of items: crockery, trinkets, clothing, books, toys, tools, small furniture, records and curiosities. The event takes its name from hake (dried cod), a traditional dish from the Touraine countryside, prepared and served during the festival.
Marigny-Marmande is a commune of about 600 inhabitants located in the Richelais region, south of Indre-et-Loire, near Richelieu. This rural village retains remarkable heritage: its 15th-century castle, its Romanesque church and its tuffeau houses bear witness to a long history. The landscapes of plains and groves offer an ideal rural setting for this village festival.
The car boot sale is held from 7 AM to 5:30 PM, with free entry. The hake dish is served at lunchtime, accompanied by a refreshment stand throughout the day. It's a unique opportunity to discover this local culinary tradition while hunting for treasures.
