Cuzance, a village in the Haut-Quercy region renowned for its truffle production, celebrates its annual festival each summer with an event combining a car boot sale and a gourmet market. The hall of the Maison de la Truffe, an emblematic site in this truffle village, and its surrounding wooded area host private sellers and local producers for a festive and gourmet day, in one of the prettiest villages in the Dordogne valley.
The Maison de la Truffe in Cuzance is a unique place in the Lot region, dedicated to promoting this emblematic Quercy mushroom. Its buildings and the adjoining hall provide an original and pleasant setting for the gourmet market and the car boot sale. The wooded area surrounding the hall offers shade to exhibitors and visitors, ensuring appreciable comfort during summer days.
In addition to the car boot sale, the Cuzance gourmet market showcases local produce: truffles and truffle products, foie gras, walnuts and walnut oil, goat cheeses, Cahors wines, honeys, and artisanal jams. This local market allows visitors to take home the best of Quercy gastronomy, in the spirit of the great truffle festivals that have made Cuzance famous for generations.
The day is full: besides the car boot sale and the gourmet market, entertainment is offered, including a motorcycle and quad track for children, ensuring fun for the whole family. A festive meal is organized in the evening, by reservation, to extend the day's conviviality in an authentic village festival atmosphere.
Cuzance is a village in the Haut-Quercy region, in the Dordogne valley, about ten kilometers west of Martel. Its truffle reputation is long-standing: at the beginning of the 20th century, the Cuzance market was one of the most important truffle markets in France, trading several tons of truffles per year. This truffle tradition is now carried on by the Maison de la Truffe and local producers, making Cuzance a must-visit gastronomic destination in the Lot.
The flea market and gourmet food market of Cuzance (46600) takes place on Sunday, as part of the annual event « Cuzance en Fête », at the Halle de la Maison de la Truffe and in the adjoining woods. Bargain hunters and exhibitors gather for a day combining a flea market, regional products, and a gourmet food market. Free entry for visitors.
Each summer, the village of Cuzance, in the Lot, organizes « Cuzance en Fête », its annual festival which takes place over three days (from Friday to Sunday) around the second week of August. The program includes musical evenings, pétanque competitions, festive meals, and children's entertainment.
Sunday is dedicated to the flea market and gourmet food market, set up at the Halle de la Maison de la Truffe and in the nearby woods. Exhibitors offer second-hand items and local products, while the gourmet food market highlights the local gastronomy of Quercy.
