Car boot sale, flea market and collectors' fair in the village of Cascades
The Car boot sale and Flea market of Gimel-les-Cascades, organized by the Association Culture et Loisirs, is held annually in March around the town hall and the cultural center of this village famous for its spectacular waterfalls. This event combines an outdoor car boot sale, set up around the town hall, and an indoor collectors' fair, in the hall of the cultural center. From 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., visitors browse stalls offering postcards, stamps, coins, figurines, books, antiques, and various flea market items. Entry is free, and catering with a refreshment stand is provided on site. Outdoor pitches are offered at €5 for 6 meters with vehicle.
Every year in March, the village of Gimel-les-Cascades hosts its car boot sale, flea market, and collectors' fair. Organized by the Association Culture et Loisirs, chaired by Francine Lescure, this dual event—outdoors and indoors—has become an anticipated spring gathering for bargain hunters and collectors in Corrèze.
The car boot sale and flea market are set up outdoors around the town hall, offering a treasure hunt experience in a natural setting with views of the picturesque village. Private exhibitors offer clothing, toys, books, tableware, small furniture, and decorative items at low prices. Simultaneously, the hall of the cultural center, adjacent to the town hall, hosts the collectors' fair: old postcards, stamps, coins, figurines, rare books, and antiques are presented by passionate collectors.
Gimel-les-Cascades owes its fame to its three spectacular waterfalls formed by the waters of the Montane, which plunge over 140 meters into a green setting. This classified natural site attracts thousands of visitors each year. The village itself, with its 12th-century Romanesque church housing a remarkable Limoges enamel reliquary, and its picturesque streets, is a must-see stop for tourism in Corrèze. The car boot sale offers the ideal opportunity to combine a visit to the waterfalls with a morning of treasure hunting.
The Association Culture et Loisirs of Gimel-les-Cascades enlivens the cultural and recreational life of the commune throughout the year. The car boot sale and collectors' fair are among the highlights of its program, bringing together residents and visitors in a spirit of friendliness and sharing. The association's volunteers ensure the organization, the reception of exhibitors, and on-site catering.
The car boot sale is open from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with exhibitors setting up from 6:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Outdoor pitches are offered at €5 for 6 meters with a vehicle. The indoor collectors' fair is €5 per meter, by prior registration. Entry is free for visitors. Catering and refreshments available on site. Contact: Francine Lescure, 06 78 76 33 73.
