The Car boot sale of Corme-Royal, traditionally held around Quasimodo Sunday (the first Sunday after Easter), is one of the most anticipated flea market events of the spring in Saintonge. With around 90 exhibitors, this event transforms the surroundings of the community hall into a true flea market where seasoned bargain hunters and Sunday strollers mingle.

Corme-Royal, a crossroads in Saintonge

Corme-Royal is a commune in Charente-Maritime ideally located between Saintes and Royan, on the D728. The village is known for its remarkable 12th-century Romanesque church, a listed historic monument, with its richly sculpted facade. This privileged geographical position, at the crossroads of the Saintes-Royan and Cognac-Atlantic coast routes, guarantees significant attendance during the car boot sale.

90 exhibitors for a varied hunt

The community hall and its surroundings host about forty indoor stalls and as many outdoors, for a total of around 90 exhibitors. The offerings are eclectic: old and modern crockery, vintage clothing, toys, books, trinkets, small furniture, garden tools, decorative objects, and curiosities of all kinds. The diversity of the stalls delights bargain hunters who never know in advance what gem they will unearth.

A friendly spring event

The Quasimodo period, at the beginning of spring, generally offers pleasant weather conditions for strolling among the stalls. The refreshments and light catering on site allow for a gourmet break. The atmosphere is family-friendly and relaxed, characteristic of the village flea markets that charm Charente-Maritime. The funds raised benefit local community life.
