Anim'Lavans was founded in 2010 from the transformation of the Lavans-lès-Saint-Claude festival committee, established in 1982. The association livens up local life throughout the year by organizing several events: the May 1st car boot sale, an organic and local market at the end of the season, and the Jungle Trail in the summer. The May 1st car boot sale is one of their flagship events.
