Every first Sunday of July, the small village of Peyzieux-sur-Saône, nestled in Val de Saône, comes alive for its traditional Snail Festival. This popular event combines local gastronomy with a friendly car boot sale, to the delight of residents and visitors alike.
The organization is jointly managed by three local associations: Les Joyeux Peyzieut'Ain, Les Goutteux de Peyzieux, and La Chasse de l'Orée du Bois. This collaboration allows for a complete and well-organized event, blending conviviality and village spirit.
The highlight of the festival is the snail tasting, offered as a plate, as part of a menu, or for takeaway. The refreshment stand complements the food offerings with cold drinks and other local specialties. It's an opportunity to taste this culinary tradition in a festive atmosphere.
In parallel with the festival, a car boot sale hosts between 50 and 100 exhibitors along rue du Beaujolais. The price is 4 euros per linear meter and setup is possible from 5 am. Entry is free for visitors.
