Early-summer flea markets in the Poitiers suburbs
The second largest town in Grand Poitiers (nearly 10,000 inhabitants), Buxerolles is known for its active associative life. June is traditionally rich in flea markets run by local associations, neighbourhood groups or schools. June 2026 dates: Sundays 7, 21 and 28 June 2026, as listed on brocabrac.fr.
Friendly family vibe. Early birds arrive at dawn for the best finds, then stay for coffee, a sandwich and a stroll. Sellers are mostly from Buxerolles itself or nearby Poitiers, Migné-Auxances, Saint-Benoît, Chasseneuil-du-Poitou, Mignaloux-Beauvoir.
Just northeast of Poitiers on the Poitou plateau, Buxerolles mixes suburban housing, newer developments, modern public facilities (media library, community centre) and some rural relics. Excellent bus links (Vitalis) with Poitiers city.
Arrive by 7 am. Bring small-denomination cash. Furniture lovers should scout fast and negotiate. June days can be hot: hat and water bottle recommended.
After shopping, discover Poitiers: Saint-Pierre Cathedral, Notre-Dame-la-Grande (UNESCO Romanesque façade), Saint-Jean Baptistery, historic quarter. Parc de la Providence in Buxerolles for a picnic.
