Every July 14th, the small village of Bussière-Nouvelle comes alive for its annual car boot sale. Exhibitors take over the village streets and squares to offer shoppers furniture, trinkets, crockery, toys, books, and all sorts of second-hand items. This National Day event is eagerly awaited by the inhabitants of this remote corner of Creuse, on the edge of the Millevaches plateau.

Bussière-Nouvelle is a commune of less than 100 inhabitants, perched at 654 meters altitude on the foothills of the Millevaches plateau. This territory of moors, peat bogs, and forests is the heart of the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Natural Park, a preserved area that is home to remarkable fauna and flora. The granite houses of the village, the village church, and the surrounding pastures form a rural landscape of simple and authentic beauty.
