The Étaules Flea Market: over 20 years of treasure hunting on the Arvert Peninsula

For over twenty years, the Terre et Mer association has organized its large flea market and car boot sale on May 8th in Étaules, a town on the Arvert Peninsula in Charente-Maritime. This event, which reaches its 22nd edition in 2026, has established itself as a major gathering for bargain hunters from the Royannais region and the Atlantic coast.

The Salle Omnisports, a Suitable Venue

The flea market takes place at the salle omnisports, chemin de Sable in Étaules. This spacious venue, combining indoor and outdoor areas, can accommodate many exhibitors regardless of weather conditions. Stalls are set up in and around the gymnasium, creating a varied treasure-hunting route. The exhibitor fee is set at €3.50 per linear meter, and reservations accompanied by payment by check take priority over unpaid registrations.

Étaules, a Town on the Arvert Peninsula

Located in the heart of the Arvert Peninsula, between the Coubre forest and the oyster farming marshes, Étaules is a lively town with shops and services for the surrounding areas. A few kilometers from the beaches of the Côte Sauvage and the Coubre lighthouse, the town offers a privileged living environment between land and sea. The Saint-Pierre church and the Charentais houses in the town center bear witness to a rich architectural heritage.

Terre et Mer, a Dynamic Association

The Terre et Mer association has been enlivening the cultural and associative life of Étaules for many years. The annual flea market on May 8th is its flagship event, mobilizing many volunteers for organization, exhibitor reception, and the running of the drinks stand and catering. Dogs are tolerated outside but prohibited inside the gymnasium.
