Flea market and car boot sale in the mining basin
Each year, the town of Villing organizes its car boot sale, an event eagerly awaited by residents and bargain hunters in the region. Private exhibitors set up their stalls to offer a wide variety of second-hand items: clothes, toys, books, crockery, small furniture, trinkets, and decorative objects.
Villing is a small town located in the Lorraine mining basin, between Freyming-Merlebach and Saint-Avold. This territory, marked by mining history, maintains a dense network of associations that animate local life through numerous events. The car boot sale is one of these events that unite the community and attract visitors from neighboring towns.
Eastern Moselle, with its strong tradition of flea markets and car boot sales, is a prime location for bargain hunters. The proximity of the German border and the region's Franco-German cultural heritage give local flea markets a special character, where one can sometimes find objects bearing witness to this cross-border history.
