Flea market and car boot sale on the large meadow by the Isle in Corgnac-sur-l'Isle
Every last Sunday of August, the grand pré de Corgnac-sur-l'Isle hosts a flea market and car boot sale in a remarkable natural setting, on the edge of the village and along the Isle river. Between 50 and 100 exhibitors, individuals and dealers, set up on the grass to offer visitors antique objects, trinkets, tableware, clothes, and curiosities of all kinds.
Corgnac-sur-l'Isle is a small village in Périgord Vert, located in the northeast of Dordogne, a few kilometers from Thiviers. The commune is crossed by the Isle river, which offers a green and peaceful setting. The village retains an authentic rural heritage with its Romanesque church and stone houses. The tourist train station of Corgnac recalls local railway history.
In addition to bargain hunting, visitors can enjoy lunch catering, a drinks stand, and crepes and ice cream throughout the day. Occasional entertainment is organized in some years, such as pony rides or equestrian shows, for the pleasure of families.
Admission is free for visitors. Exhibitors wishing to book a spot must register directly with the mairie de Corgnac-sur-l'Isle at 05 53 55 08 14. The large meadow offers easy parking in the immediate vicinity of the car boot sale.
