The Lorris Autumn Brocante-Vide greniers: treasure hunting in autumn colors

As every year, the second Sunday in October marks the return of the great Autumn Brocante-Vide greniers in Lorris. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes, this autumn event is the second major treasure hunting gathering of the year in this medieval town in the Gâtinais. After the spring bloom of the Spring Brocante, it's the turn of the golden and russet hues of autumn to dress the historic setting of Lorris for this festive and popular day.

Lorris is one of the most remarkable towns in the Loiret, with its Romanesque Saint-Étienne church whose octagonal tower is a landmark visible for several kilometers. The medieval streets, half-timbered houses, and paved squares create an exceptional setting for the autumn flea market. The colors of the season – yellow of the lime trees, russet of the plane trees – add a romantic touch to strolling among the stalls.

Exhibition fair and funfair

The brocante-vide greniers d'Automne is sometimes renamed "Foire Exposition": it welcomes not only flea market exhibitors and individuals, but also local producers and artisans who showcase their skills. The funfair set up on Place Saint-Nicolas and Place du Mail completes the day's program and welcomes families with their children.

An end-of-season offering

Autumn is conducive to flea market bargains: exhibitors clear out their attics before winter, collectors offer their duplicates, and furniture and decorative items become more numerous.
