Annual flea market and car boot sale near the town hall of Le Caylar, a village on the Larzac plateau
The brocante and vide-grenier of Le Caylar are held annually near the town hall of this village perched on the Larzac plateau. Organized by the association Larzac Méridional, the event offers bargains and second-hand items in a unique caussenard setting, at an altitude of 700 meters.
Perched at 700 meters altitude on the Larzac plateau, Le Caylar (34520) is the northernmost village in the Hérault region. Every year, the association Larzac Méridional organizes a flea market and car boot sale near the town hall, in the heart of this fortified town overlooking the Lergue valley. Exhibitors offer furniture, trinkets, tableware, clothing, and various items in the shade of the medieval ramparts.
A historic stopover village on the road from Millau to Languedoc, Le Caylar is distinguished by its ruiniform rocks that seem to guard the entrance to the causse. The dolomitic cliffs sculpted by erosion, the rock garden, and the remains of medieval fortifications create a striking mineral landscape. In winter, snow sometimes covers the village, reminding us that we are at the borders of Aveyron and Hérault, in a world apart, austere and majestic.
The pitch is €5 for 6 meters, making the event accessible to all private sellers. Entry is free for visitors. The flea market is held outdoors with views of the ruiniform rocks and the plateau. It's an opportunity to combine treasure hunting with discovering this unique village, the gateway to the southern Larzac.
The brocante and vide-grenier of Le Caylar return in summer 2026 near the town hall. Free entry, pitch €5 for 6 meters. Unique setting on the Larzac plateau.
