The Maurs Fishing Flea Market: where bargain hunters meet anglers

Every year in June, the Domaine du Fau pond, in Maurs, becomes the scene of an original event that blends the passion for antiquing with that for fishing. Organized by the AAPPMA de la Châtaigneraie (Approved Association for Fishing and Protection of the Aquatic Environment), this fishing festival and flea market attracts families, anglers, and collectors in an exceptional natural setting.

A flea market specializing in fishing and crafts

The exhibition-sale of fishing equipment, open from 9 am to 5 pm, brings together vendors offering rods, reels, lures, antique and modern accessories. Local artisans are also present: a rod maker, a basket weaver from Montsalvy specializing in traditional baskets, and an artisan making wooden boxes and blue flies. It's an opportunity to discover unique skills related to river and pond fishing.

Fishing activities for young and old

The day begins at 8 am with a trout release into the pond. At 10 am, a fishing competition for children aged 6 to 14 is organized (registration from 8:30 am), followed by an awards ceremony at noon. In the afternoon, after another trout release at 1 pm, fishing is open to everyone, without a fishing license required. Fly and lure fishing introductions, as well as a fishing simulator, complete the program.
