Fête des Bocains, a southern Vendée highlight

Each early June, the Bocains Luçonnais association revives place du Champ de Foire in Luçon with its Fête des Bocains — a garage sale enriched by artists' studio sales and a craft village. 2026 date: Sunday 7 June, 8am-6pm, 100-200 sellers.

What sets it apart is the mix: private sellers, local artists showing paintings, sculpture, pottery, craftspeople, hunters, families. Old-fashioned fairground games delight kids and nostalgic grown-ups.

The Bocains, a flagship local group

The association promotes Luçon's historic Bocains district. Beyond the Fête, it runs year-round activities: meals, neighbourhood parties, solidarity work. The sale is their biggest public event and main funding source.
