Every May 8th, the town center of Neuves-Maisons transforms into a vast treasure hunting ground. Around Place Ernest Poirson and the Espace Culturel Jean L'Hôte, over 200 exhibitors set up their stalls on several pedestrian streets for a day of good deals and discoveries.

A Treasure Hunting Route Through the Town Streets

The flea market stalls stretch along an extended route, encompassing Place Ernest Poirson and the surrounding streets: Rue du Général Thiry, Rue Nicolas Geny, Rue de la Paix, and Rue Jules Ferry. This layout allows visitors to stroll pleasantly among the stalls, which offer a varied assortment of items: clothing, trinkets, antique tableware, books, toys, furniture, and decorative objects.

Neuves-Maisons, Industrial Town in the Moselle Valley

Located south of Nancy, in the Moselle valley, Neuves-Maisons is a town of about 7,000 inhabitants marked by its past in the iron and steel industry. The town has since reoriented itself and now boasts a dynamic town center, organized around Place Poirson and the Espace Culturel Jean L'Hôte, a municipal performance venue that hosts a varied cultural program throughout the year.

The Espace Culturel Jean L'Hôte, named after the Lorraine writer born in Neuves-Maisons, serves as the central point of this event. This municipal facility, located on Place Ernest Poirson, offers a visible landmark for visitors. About twenty additional stalls are set up directly on the square, creating a lively hub from which the entire flea market radiates.

Entry to the flea market is free for all visitors. Food and drinks are available on-site, allowing you to refresh yourself between finds. Parking is available in the adjacent streets and in the town center parking lots. Access by public transport is facilitated by the bus lines of the Grand Nancy metropolitan area.
