Perched at over 1,000 meters above sea level on the Haut-Lignon plateau, Mazet-Saint-Voy is one of the emblematic villages of Haute-Loire, known for its history, its wooded landscapes, and its associative dynamism. Every first Sunday of August, the commune renews the tradition of its grand village festival, a popular event that combines a flea market, agricultural fair, craft market, and entertainment for all ages.

A flea market in the heart of the village

From dawn on Sunday, flea market vendors and individuals set up in the alleys and squares of the village to offer their treasures: old dishes, tools, trinkets, books, clothes, and vintage furniture. Experienced bargain hunters and curious strollers mingle in a relaxed atmosphere, characteristic of the village fairs of Haute-Loire. The flea market coexists harmoniously with the local producers' market, where cheeses, cured meats, jams, and specialties from the Haut-Lignon plateau are showcased.

Fair, parade, and entertainment

The festival is in full swing in the afternoon with the traditional parade that crosses the town, followed by musical entertainment and a country meal. Local craft exhibitors rub shoulders with children's rides, and the flea market fair continues into the evening. It is a unique opportunity to discover or rediscover this charming village, its stone alleys, and its panoramas of the Sucs and the forests of Mézenc.

A tradition of several decades

The Fête du Village du Mazet-Saint-Voy has established itself over the years as a must-attend event on the Haut-Lignon summer calendar. In 2025, the event celebrated its 40th anniversary, a sign of the vitality of the local associative fabric and the attachment of residents and visitors to this tradition. The Mazet-Saint-Voy Animation Committee, a pillar of the organization, mobilizes dozens of volunteers each year to make this day an unforgettable moment of sharing.
