Velles is a commune of about 1,300 inhabitants located a few kilometers south of Châteauroux, the prefecture of the Indre. The village overlooks the Indre valley in a landscape transitioning between the Champagne berrichonne and the Boischaut Sud. The commune has a beautiful Romanesque church from the 12th century and interesting architectural heritage.
