400 exhibitors: the largest flea market in southern Indre

Every October, the commune of Lourdoueix-Saint-Michel hosts one of the largest flea markets in the Indre department. Around 400 exhibitors, professionals and individuals, set up in the town center and adjacent streets to offer antique furniture, antiques, trinkets, tableware, books, tools, clothing, toys, lighting, collectibles and curiosities from all eras. The scale of the event attracts thousands of visitors from all over the Centre of France, from Creuse, from Cher and beyond.

Lourdoueix-Saint-Michel, at the borders of Berry and Marche

Lourdoueix-Saint-Michel is a commune of about 1,000 inhabitants located in the extreme south of the Indre department, at the borders of Berry and Marche, on the edge of Creuse. This hilly area, covered with hedgerows, forests and meadows, preserves an authentic rural heritage. The Saint-Michel church, the granite stone barns and the sunken lanes bear witness to a landscape shaped by centuries of peasant agriculture. The commune is a crossing point between the former provinces of Berry and Limousin.

A regional-scale bargain hunting day

By its number of exhibitors, the Lourdoueix-Saint-Michel flea market ranks among the most important in the region. The event is part of the local festival, with full catering, refreshments, entertainment and a fair. Admission is free and parking is organized on the outskirts of the village.
