43rd edition of the great Aigurande flea market, organized by the Friends of Old Aigurande
The flea market of the Friends of Old Aigurande celebrates its 43rd edition in 2026. This major event of the summer calendar of the Indre department takes place every August 1st in the streets of Aigurande, a small border town between Berry and Marche. 100 to 200 exhibitors — professional and private sellers — take over the squares and streets of the town center to offer a considerable selection of items: antique furniture, earthenware, old tools, books, trinkets, lighting, vinyl records, embroidered linens, and curiosities of all kinds.
Aigurande is a town of about 1,400 inhabitants located in the extreme south of the Indre department, at the borders of Berry and Marche, a few kilometers from the Creuse department. The commune occupies a granite plateau offering extensive panoramas of the surrounding valleys. The association Friends of Old Aigurande, founded to preserve and promote local heritage, has been organizing this flea market since the 1980s with unwavering success. The town retains beautiful old houses, a church, and a lively commercial fabric for a town of this size.
The choice of the August 1st date, in the middle of the summer season, guarantees a large turnout of bargain hunters and vacationers. The flea market enjoys a solid reputation that attracts visitors from the Indre, Creuse, Cher, and Allier departments. Refreshments and food are available on site. Admission is free.
