Every spring, before the good weather arrives, the municipality of Devecey hosts its Clothing and Childcare Exchange, an event that has found its audience among families from the plateau and the Besançon agglomeration. Over two consecutive days, individuals offer for sale or exchange clothing of all sizes—baby, child, teenager, and adult—as well as childcare equipment in good condition: strollers, bassinets, high chairs, beds, baby gear, and various accessories.

The event meets a real need for families who want to update their children's wardrobes at a lower cost, while giving a second life to items they no longer need. This approach, both economical and ecological, appeals to more and more participants, whether they are sellers happy to clear out their closets or buyers delighted to find bargains.

Two days to choose well

The exchange is generally held at the end of March, over two days—Friday and Saturday, or Saturday and Sunday—which gives families time to come at their convenience. The two-day format also allows sellers to maximize their chances of finding buyers for their items, and buyers to avoid rushing their choices.

Devecey, a village in the Doubs located on the plateau between Besançon and Baume-les-Dames, is easily accessible from neighboring towns. The local organization, supported by dedicated volunteers, ensures a welcoming atmosphere for participants and a smooth running of the event over the two days.
